Mike Hainsey is currently the Executive Director at the Golden Triangle Regional (GTR) Airport. He is a retired Air Force pilot and a former Assistant Professor of Aerospace Science for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Hainsey has been at the GTR Airport since 2003. He is the past president of the Mississippi Airports Association as well as the Mississippi Intermodal Council. He previously earned the distinction of being named the FAA Southern Region Commercial Service Airport Manager of the Year.
Hainsey was recently appointed by Governor Bryant to the Board of Directors for the Aerospace Alliance, a four-state organization formed to promote the aerospace industry in member states. In addition, he was named the chairman of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Air Service Committee to help increase air service to smaller communities.
Hainsey was the chairperson of the Transportation Research Board’s Aviation Cooperative Research Program panel that created the first publication for UAS use on airports. He also is currently working on an updated publication on that topic.
Hainsey is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and holds a Masters Degree in Business from Webster University in St Louis, Missouri. He is an Accredited Airport Executive with the AAAE.
