After a successful career in the construction industry, I found that early retirement wasn't for me, and discovered that aviation was still in my blood. While serving in the Air Force, I gained invaluable experience as a member of both Red Horse and Prime Beef Civil Engineers. Working on and around the airfield led to a position in Japan with Pan-Am/World Airways immediately after my honorable discharge. After six years in airside, landside, and maintenance, I changed careers due to a growing family and a burning entrepreneurial curiosity.
After retiring from the construction industry, I ventured briefly into the security industry, but still had the smell of jet fuel stuck in my mind!
Now, I am back in the Aviation industry, and enjoying the daily challenges as I learn all that I can, while implementing my experience from my previous career.
Currently, I am enrolled in the AAAE C.M. program, and pursuing my Aviation Business Management Degree with Embry Riddle.
Membership with the AAAE has provided unequaled opportunities for networking, and professional development, and I'm looking forward to many more years of continued learning and success.
In addition to numerous FEMA certifications, I have attended various workshops on runway repair, safety, Basic ASOS, Airport Wildlife Management, and ACE Airfield Lighting.
