Abhaya is currently an Airport Security Compliance Analyst at San Antonio International Airport. He graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a degree in Aviation and Aerospace Management, minor in management, and a certificate in Airport Management on May 17, 2019 with Summa Cum Laude. Abhaya received the Special Service - Student Affairs Award from the University and the Outstanding Aviation Student Award from the College of Professional Studies. Abhaya also passed the AAAE Certified Member (C.M.) exam as a student. Along with being a student, Abhaya was the President of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) student chapter, which won Student Organization of the Year from the University. The chapter coordinated the Jason Alvero event, which brought in over 100 in attendance from Denver International Airport, TSA, local emergency personnel, Centennial Airport, FBI, students, MSU Denver faculty, City personnel, etc. Jason Alvero discussed the tragedy that occurred at Ft. Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport on January 6, 2017. The event won Community Event of the Year from the University.

Abhaya was the Airport Security intern at Denver International Airport (DEN), which ended on May 16, 2019. Prior to this internship, Abhaya completed the summer Airport Security internship in 2018, and the Terminal and Airside Operations internship in the summer of 2017.

Abhaya was invited to speak on a professional panel at the American Association of Airport Executives/Airports Consultants Council Planning, Design, and Construction Symposium, to discuss "Generations in the Workplace" in front of a crowd with over 1,000 professionals.
